I am transmitting herewith for the information of the Bureau copies of an enclosure dated February 4, 1948 received from Lieutenant Colonel DONALD SPRINGER, A-2, United States Air Force, Hamilton Air Force Base, California. This enclosure is a confidential letter addressed to the Commanding Generals of the First, Second, Fourth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Fourteenth Air Forces, Air Defense Command, from Head- quarters, Air Defense Command, Mitchel Air Force Base, New York, by command of Lieutenant General STRATEMEYER. It concerns the investigation of flying discs by Air Force personnel.
